Followup to the Blackberry 9900 Videos

Some additions and answers to peoples queries.

Yes, it has mobile hotspot.

Most importantly - BATTERY LIFE !!
I did a complete wipe, and installed the leaked .261 (.100 has really bad battery life)
With .261 - Things are a whole lot different. First let me say, this has a 1230mhh Battery, a bigger and brighter screen, so at first glance i thought, what the F**K is RIM Thinking, but after installing .261 these are my shocking results :

Day Started at 8am…..Spoke for about 90 mins, got about 30 emails, sent around 50 text’s, took a few videos, did a some decent amount of browsing and guess what…by 7pm the battery was STILL AT 85% - Thats only 15% Drained with a day’s work. So if your a very heavy user—- it will still last you 2 days easily.
& This is just the leaked version, i’m just wondering what the final version will have and how much better this can get.

& here i was thinking of shifting to iPhone (& I actually did - My battery was dead by 6pm)
BB IS BACK & WITH A BAAAAANNNNGGGG !!!

BlackBerry Torch 2 in The Wild

It’s been a while since the BlackBerry Torch 2 (BlackBerry 9810) popped up, but we’ve received a few in the wild shots of the phone thanks to Mr. Blurrycam.  There has been a promise as well of some distinctly non-blurry goodies coming very, very soon that will show off this handset in all its glory.

Here is the front of the BlackBerry Torch 2

And the back of the BlackBerry Torch 2

As you can see, this is clearly an evaluation device, but seeing as there have been no rumors of the July launch date on AT&T being delayed, we assume this is a close to final release unit.  For those unfamiliar with this particular BlackBerry, it does have the traditional physical QWERTY keyboard the brand is so well known for, but it’s a slider.

This is also one of the first devices running version 7 of the BlackBerry operating system, and paired up with a 1.2GHz processor, we should see some blazing speeds out of this handset once it hits the store shelves.  Here are the specs known so far from a spec sheet leaked to CrackBerry.

BlackBerry Torch 2 Tech Specs (Subject to change)

  • 1.2 GHz processor
  • 3.17-inch TFT LCD (640 x 480)
  • 768MB of RAM
  • 8GB internal memory
  • MicroSD HC slot up to 32GB
  • 5MP rear camera with 720P HD video recording

Thanks to the folks at Negri Electronics for hooking us up.

We’ll have a lot more to show off of the BlackBerry Torch 2 very soon, so stay tuned!

What do you think of this new BlackBerry handset so far?
